Writing Retreat Update

View from deck at Waubee

It’s a gorgeous Sunday morning at my Quiet Place. It’s the last day of my writing retreat weekend. For those who “liked”, commented, shared and prayed for my time alone with Jesus, to write and reflect, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing so. Knowing people, many total strangers, were praying for me was so encouraging. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Therefore encourage one another and build each other

up, just as in fact you are doing.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

As I write this I am sitting on the deck overlooking the lake. As is often the case, the last day is the most beautiful. You can see in the photo, the lake is calm and at rest from the last two days of on and off storms. Even the rain and wind did not detract from peaceful time with my Lord.

Some have asked where this Quite Place is located. It’s a home on Waubee Lake, just outside of Milford Indiana, owned by Camp Mack. It is literally called A Quiet Place.

The house is used all year long for people like myself who need a quiet place to rest, reflect, pray and study the Word of God. There are retreats here for small groups as well as open times for private getaways, as was my need this weekend.

Thank you Camp Mack and Norma for this beautiful place I can call home now and then. It truly is a place of simple beauty; a place to surrender to Jesus, distraction free. Thank you!

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the

door will be opened to you.

Mark 7:7

My original article was a prayer request as I embark on a book writing journey. I’m happy to tell you the weekend has given me a great start on organizing my thoughts and setting the stage for the book. No more little notes all over the place! Yay!

I’ll share more as the writing progresses over the next several months. I’ve given myself until July 2017 to complete the first draft at which time I am hopeful to get meetings with two publishers at next years She Speaks conference.

I know, a year is a long time. However, I work full time, volunteer, write for my ministry page and have a wonderful husband and family I enjoy spending time with. That said, a year may not be long enough!

Speaking of my wonderful husband. I am so very thankful for his encouragement and love. Someone asked me if my need to get away, by myself, puts a strain on my marriage. Absolutely not. I am blessed with a man who understands my need for solitude and time to write distraction free. In truth, I think he needs the time to himself too. He enjoys watching old John Wayne movies, listening to loud music (not my thing) and eating like a teenager while I’m away. Time alone for both of us is a good thing, then back together is great. 😉

Thank you so very much again for your past and continued prayers as I do my best to write something of value for Single Mothers everywhere. Stay tuned… 🙂

Now let’s flip this around. How can I, or we as a community, be praying for you? Leave your prayer request in the comment section. Don’t feel like sharing? That’s okay. Just say unspoken. God will know and understand your need.

Father God we humbly come before you in gratitude for the ability to reach out to You any time of the day or night. Thank You for Jesus who broke the barrier between us and You. Thank You for love and grace. We love You so very much. In the matchless name of our Lord, Savior and Friend, amen.

In His embrace,

Toni

P.S. This should have been to you a week ago, but I had foot surgery last Wednesday that left me a tad more uncomfortable than I was prepared for. Thank you for your patience. All is well now. Yay God!
