Thank you Colin Kaepernick

Thank You Colin Kaepernick

FreedomThank you for waking up the United States of America to hypocrisy; The hypocrisy of those who are blessed to live in, flawed though she may be, the greatest Country in the World, yet choose to display little to no respect for what they have been given.

Thank you for giving parents a new reason to talk to their children about the greatness of the United States of America and the sacrificial meaning of our National Anthem.

Thank you for reminding us of the importance and sincere obligation of showing respect and gratitude to those who have served and are currently serving in the greatest Military in the world!

Thank you for reminding us all why we stand and sing our National Anthem, at the top of our lungs, in respect of the greatness of this vast, wondrous, land we call home.

Thank you for reminding those of us who have taken for granted, how and why, we have the freedom to voice our personal opinions, regardless of how misguided some of those opinions may be.

Thank you for reminding us why we should show our constant patriotism by proudly flying the flag of the United States of America. Not just on patriotic holiday’s but every day of the year!

Thank you for encouraging every news agency, both in print and television media, to remind us of our National Anthem many times over the course of the last few weeks.

Oh, say can you see,
By the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed,
At the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars,
Through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched,
Were so gallantly streaming.
And the rocket’s red glare,
The bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night,
That our flag was still there.
Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave,
For the land of the free, and the home of the brave.

Thank you for reminding us that we are all flawed human beings who say and do things we regret, but also have the ability to ask for forgiveness when our mistakes are revealed.

And lastly, thank you for reminding each of us that we should pray for everyone, especially those who have lost their way.

Heavenly Father, we humbly come before You to pray for Colin, and others like him, who have become misguided about what they have been so freely given in this Country. Thank You for the beauty you have surrounded us with and for all of the comforts we are so privileged to enjoy. Thank You for those who so willingly put themselves in harms way in order to keep us a free and protected Nation. Please forgive us for so often taking it all for granted. Please help those of us that know better, to set a better example for those who are misinformed.

We love you Lord! In the matchless name of our Lord, Savior and friend, amen.

In His Embrace,

Toni

Unfortunately he won’t read this. But it is so true that many need to be reminded.
I like to just speak The Anthem. So many people, I feel, sing it but do not really embrace the words.

I didn’t really intend it for Colin to read, although it would be great if he did. I just felt it necessary to write something to lift us into a different mindset. So many are only condemning him while others are confused. He’s lost his way, but we can pray for him, and others who will follow his lead, to come to an understanding of what they are doing.

I agree. Speaking the words to our National Anthem is quite moving. I wish I had been taught the meaning behind the lyrics when I was a child.

    Yes yes yes!

      So glad you like it!!

I understand he has a right to protest, but what he clearly doesn’t understand is what it cost for him to have that freedom to protest. I just would like to know where are all the protesters when domestic violence repeatedly shows up about NFL players? I never see fellow players protesting to end the violence against women and children.

Agreed Sheila. Many, like Colin, only see what they want to see. I’m thankful we are able to have this conversation. Since we know God uses all things to work together for our good, He is also using the misguided to wake up many who have been unaware and many not taught of how extraordinary this great Country is.

thank you for the great reminder, wow that sometimes when things are different than we like that it may be there for a reason to bring our attention back to where it needs to be

      Hi Angie,

Thank you so much for your comment. I agree. Sometime’s God uses something negative in nature to remind us of something more positive.

      God bless you and yours!
